Lonely Festival

Concept, design, copy

Our project for 'Stichting De Eenzame Uitvaart' uses design to show how loneliness feels. We made a chair shaped like a cocoon as a metaphor to represent the isolation lonely people go through. This makes people think about loneliness and feel empathy for those who experience it.

About 1.5 million people in the Netherlands feel lonely, so it's important to talk about it. Our cocoon chair design helps people understand the feeling of being isolated. It also suggests that there's hope for lonely people to feel better.

We use the cocoon idea in images, installations, and branding to spread awareness consistently. This helps more people understand and care about loneliness.

Speed Queen

Concept, design, production

Speed Queen is about breaking stereotypes and showing that everyone deserves freedom. We compare religious clothing, like the hijab or nikab, to special gear worn by race car drivers.

This shows how empowering religious clothing can be, emphasizing personal choice over limitations.Calling it "Speed Queen" adds strength to the idea. It makes covered women seem powerful and in control, like queens on a race track. This challenges stereotypes that say religious clothing holds women back.

Saying a driver's license means more than just passing a test adds depth to the idea. It shows that driving is about freedom and independence. By comparing covered women to race car drivers, Speed Queen says everyone should have the right to move freely and follow their dreams.

Speed Queen is about freedom for everyone, no matter who they are or what they believe. It asks society to rethink its ideas and be more accepting.

Fort 020

Concept, design, production

Fort 020 revolves around the feeling of displacement and alienation that many Amsterdammers experience in their own city. These forts are set up in different parts of the city, especially where gentrification is happening a lot. They're a way to show how people in Amsterdam feel disconnected from their own city.

The idea of using cement and soft pillows is more about feelings than actual materials. Cement represents the tough feelings people have when their neighborhoods change. Pillows show the need for comfort and connection, even when things are hard. It's all about showing that even when things seem tough, there's still room for kindness and connection.

Van Gogh Museum x Appelsap

Concept

In an effort to entice more Appelsap festival attendees to explore the Van Gogh Museum, visitors have the option to acquire a temporary tattoo adorned with a Van Gogh artwork.

This unique tattoo functions as a complimentary museum pass, providing access until it naturally fades. Additionally, for those seeking a more permanent connection, getting a Van Gogh-inspired permanent tattoo offers a lifetime of free entrance to the museum.

Diesel x Rijksmuseum

Concept, design

We united the Rijksmuseum's heritage with Diesel's modern touch. It's all about craftsmanship, where classic Dutch art meshes with Diesel jeans. In the museum, we combined traditional art with Diesel jeans.

Here, paintings stand as a proof to our most sustainable heritage, protecting history through artistry and time.
